About the Role

As a Conflicts Staff Attorney with Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, you will help safeguard the firm's professional and ethical standards by evaluating potential conflicts of interest tied to incoming matters and prospective clients. While the position is anchored to our Seattle office, it offers the flexibility of fully remote work for candidates living within reasonable commuting distance of one of our offices, including locations in Portland, Los Angeles, Culver City, and San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze new client and matter submissions to identify possible conflicts of interest.
• Interpret search results against professional responsibility rules and firm policies.
• Provide clear, well-reasoned guidance to attorneys on conflict-related questions.
• Assist with drafting and reviewing waivers, engagement terms, and related documentation.
• Partner with the new business intake and risk management teams to resolve issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
• Strong understanding of legal ethics and conflicts of interest principles.
• Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating across offices.
