Clinical Nurse Coordinator Peds B Psych

Join Mission Hospital in Brevard as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Pediatrics B Psychiatric unit. This is a part-time position where you'll play a vital role in coordinating clinical care, supporting treatment outcomes, and partnering with families in a specialty psychiatric setting serving children and adolescents.

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator on our pediatric behavioral health unit, you'll serve as a bridge between patients, families, and our multidisciplinary clinical team. You'll facilitate care coordination, ensure clear communication across disciplines, and support the planning and delivery of safe, effective psychiatric treatment for young patients.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate care activities and communication between nursing, psychiatry, psychology, social services, and other clinical team members
• Assess patients' clinical needs, psychiatric symptoms, and risk factors; monitor progress during treatment
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment approaches, medications, and coping strategies
• Develop and support discharge planning, including referrals to community mental health resources and follow-up services
• Document care coordination activities, patient interactions, and clinical observations in the electronic health record
• Participate in treatment planning meetings, interdisciplinary rounds, and case discussions
• Support the nursing team in delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care to pediatric patients

What We're Looking For

• Active registered nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or eligibility to obtain one
• Knowledge of pediatric psychiatric conditions, behavioral health, and mental health nursing practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with children, adolescents, and families
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Experience in care coordination, psychiatric nursing, or behavioral health preferred
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and clinical documentation
• Dedication to patient-centered, compassionate, respectful care
