Clinical Laboroatory Technologist – Cytogenetics

Join Labcorp as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist specializing in Cytogenetics at our Brentwood, Williamson County location. We're looking for an experienced, detail-oriented technologist to contribute to our diagnostic laboratory operations and help deliver accurate genetic analysis results to healthcare providers and patients.

About the Role

This is a full-time position working Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. In this role, you'll perform essential cytogenetic procedures that directly support patient diagnosis and clinical decision-making. You'll work with advanced laboratory equipment and proven methodologies to prepare and analyze chromosomal samples.

What You'll Do

• Prepare tissue cultures and manage harvesting procedures to obtain metaphase chromosomes
• Perform slide making and banding techniques using standard cytogenetic protocols
• Conduct automated karyotyping analysis and interpretation of chromosomal patterns
• Execute FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization) processing, probe application, and microscopic analysis
• Prepare and quality-control reagents used in cytogenetic testing
• Evaluate specimen acceptability and integrity according to laboratory standards
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures and results
• Adhere to all laboratory safety and quality assurance protocols

What We're Looking For

• Valid clinical laboratory technologist certification or license (MT/ASCP or equivalent)
• Demonstrated experience in cytogenetics, including tissue culture and karyotyping
• Proficiency with FISH techniques and automated karyotyping systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in specimen analysis
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards
• Knowledge of laboratory information systems and electronic reporting
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with laboratory team members
