Clinical Intern

Wayside is now accepting Clinical Intern applications for its Metro West Community Services team in Framingham, Middlesex County, with placements available for Spring and Fall of 2026. This full-time, on-site internship is designed for graduate students preparing to launch a career in clinical mental health and social work.

About the Role

As a Clinical Intern at Wayside, you will gain hands-on field experience supporting children, youth, and families across the Metro West region. Based at 88 Lincoln Street in Framingham, MA, this placement pairs you with experienced, licensed field instructors who guide your professional development through direct clinical work and community-based services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to clients under the supervision of licensed field instructors (LICSW, LMHC, and LMFT).
• Conduct home visits with the families and individuals served by Metro West Community Services.
• Participate in a pre-service orientation and complete required onboarding steps before beginning your placement.
• Apply classroom learning to real-world community mental health settings throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a second-year or final-year master's-level student in a relevant clinical or social work program.
• Willingness to complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) background check.
• Access to a personal vehicle, as a car is required to travel for home visits across the community.
• Availability to attend the required pre-service orientation.
