The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist for its West Woodstock, Windsor County location. This is a full-time, on-site position perfect for an experienced arboriculturist ready to grow with a trusted tree care leader.

About the Role

As a Climbing Arborist, you'll be the backbone of our tree care operations in West Woodstock and the surrounding Windsor County area. You'll work in dynamic outdoor environments, using advanced climbing techniques to assess, maintain, and manage trees that serve residential and commercial properties throughout Vermont. Your expertise will directly impact tree health, property aesthetics, and public safety.

What You'll Do

• Scale trees safely using professional climbing equipment and harnesses
• Evaluate tree structure, health indicators, and risk factors
• Execute precision pruning and limb removal to enhance tree vitality
• Remove diseased, dead, or hazardous branches that threaten safety
• Perform controlled tree removal operations when medically necessary
• Ensure work sites remain safe for surrounding property and pedestrians
• Maintain climbing gear, cutting tools, and specialized equipment
• Follow industry safety standards and company protocols

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated passion for arboriculture and professional tree care
• Physical capability to climb, work at heights, and perform strenuous labor
• Valid US driver's license
• Willingness to obtain or existing safety certifications
• Understanding of tree species, diseases, and health assessment (preferred)
• Prior experience in tree service or arboriculture (preferred)
• ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Certified Arborist credential (a plus)

Compensation and Employment Details

This position offers $22 to $29 hourly, commensurate with your experience level, professional certifications, and relevant licensing. Full-time employment provides consistent, year-round work in West Woodstock.
