About the Role
This is a 1099 independent contractor position for an experienced Class A driver running over-the-road (OTR) freight on dry van and car carrier loads. You'll handle line haul and LTL runs with no driver load or unload required, keeping you focused on the road. Drivers can expect roughly 3,000 to 3,500 miles per week, with weekly gross earnings averaging $1,800 to $2,400 at a pay rate of $0.55 to $0.65 per mile.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Class A equipment safely over the road on dry van and car carrier assignments
- Complete solo line haul and LTL deliveries within scheduled windows
- Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Communicate consistently with dispatch to keep freight moving on time
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Comfortable running OTR with extended time on the road
- Willingness to operate as a 1099 independent contractor
- Strong safety record and dependable, self-directed work ethic
Home Time & Schedule
- Typical runs of 7 to 14 days out, with the option to stay out longer if you prefer
- Earn 3 days of home time for every 14 days worked
- Home at least 2 weekends per month
