How to use this kit

Ground every answer in facts on this page and the original listing. We never invent Glassdoor-style reviews or salaries that are not in our data.

Interview prep

Be ready on: months of CDL experience, endorsement status, accidents/violations, comfort with weeks OTR, and how you manage fatigue and weather. Ask about average weekly miles, weekly pay components behind the ~$1.7k figure, pet/passenger policy, and home-time cadence for this U.S. Xpress OTR dry-van seat.

Fit summary

Strong fit if you hold a Class A CDL, have ~1–5 months experience (or meet their minimum), prefer company equipment over owning a truck, and accept multi-day dry-van OTR life. Weak fit if you need daily home time, local-only routes, or cannot meet FMCSA ELDT/CDL standards.

Day in the role

As a Class A CDL company driver on U.S. Xpress OTR dry van, your day is built around pre-trip inspections, coupling and loading dry-van trailers, long-haul highway miles, HOS-compliant rest, electronic logging, and check-calls with dispatch. Expect multi-day runs away from home, fuel and scale stops, and drop/hook or live-load turns—not local yard work. Experience band in the listing is roughly 1–5 months; safety and on-time delivery drive the cadence more than office tasks.

Skills to emphasize

Core skills: Class A CDL, safe OTR dry-van handling, trip planning, HOS/ELD discipline, and clear dispatch communication. Official pathing: FMCSA — CDL & Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements (free info).
