About the Role

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside licensed engineers and project managers on infrastructure initiatives including transportation systems, water resources, utilities, and site development. This is a paid, full-time internship designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world engineering practice. You'll gain exposure to the complete project lifecycle—from initial analysis and design through construction oversight—while developing technical and professional skills.

What You'll Do

• Assist in preparing civil engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications using industry-standard software
• Conduct site surveys, field investigations, and data collection for design and planning projects
• Support project teams with document preparation, coordination, and administrative tasks
• Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal teams to understand project requirements
• Help analyze geotechnical, hydrological, and structural data to inform design recommendations
• Contribute to feasibility studies, cost estimates, and schedule development
• Gain mentorship from experienced civil engineers on design methodologies and problem-solving approaches

What We're Looking For

• Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Civil Engineering program (ABET accredited preferred)
• Strong foundation in civil engineering fundamentals: structures, transportation, water resources, or geotechnical principles
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software is a plus; willingness to learn is essential
• Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse team members
• Attention to detail, time management, and professional work ethic
• Ability to work on-site in Newburgh Heights for the duration of the internship
