About the Role
As Chief Engineer (Interceptors) at Impulse Space, you serve as the lead technical authority guiding the architecture, design, and mission outcomes of advanced national security space systems. You own the complete technical direction of a high-performance interceptor platform built to perform in unforgiving operational settings, where reliability, rapid responsiveness, and dependable execution are non-negotiable. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Lawndale facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and own the end-to-end technical vision for a next-generation interceptor platform.
- Drive system architecture and engineering development from early concept through mission success.
- Ensure the platform meets demanding standards for reliability, responsiveness, and operational consistency.
- Act as the central technical decision-maker across engineering disciplines supporting the program.
- Translate challenging mission requirements into sound, executable engineering solutions.
Qualifications
- Deep technical expertise in aerospace, defense, or space systems engineering.
- Proven track record leading complex hardware platforms through full development lifecycles.
- Experience architecting high-reliability systems intended for demanding mission environments.
- Ability to provide authoritative technical direction across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong judgment for balancing performance, responsiveness, and operational dependability.
