The Opportunity

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our team in Richland, Washington. As part of the Science & Technology directorates, this role will contribute to cutting-edge research and development projects focused on national security, earth and biological sciences, physical and computational sciences, and energy and environmental solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct advanced research in chemical engineering principles and practices to support various scientific initiatives at PNNL.
  • Develop and implement innovative methodologies for the analysis of complex systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and analyze experiments and tests.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering through continued education and professional development activities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical engineering, with increasing responsibility in research and development.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems using advanced mathematical models and software tools.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment used in chemical engineering research.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
