About the Role As a Chemical Dependency Recovery Counselor III with KAISER, you'll provide direct therapeutic services and psychosocial support to adults, adolescents, families, and significant others navigating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This is a part-time position offering flexibility while maintaining meaningful clinical impact across our Los Angeles County service area. What You'll Do Receive and triage patient inquiries, directing individuals to appropriate chemical dependency services and evidence-based treatment options Respond to urgent situations, including crisis calls, with clinical judgment and appropriate de-escalation and safety planning Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to identify substance use severity, co-occurring mental health diagnoses, and treatment readiness Deliver individual and group psychotherapy using recognized therapeutic approaches Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to develop and implement individualized treatment and recovery plans Provide education and support to families and significant others affected by chemical dependency Document patient encounters and maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with KAISER standards What We're Looking For Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related mental health discipline State licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist—or equivalent certification in chemical dependency counseling Demonstrated clinical experience in chemical dependency assessment, treatment, and recovery support Ability to conduct differential diagnosis and recognize co-occurring psychiatric conditions Strong crisis intervention and de-escalation skills Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity with diverse populations Commitment to working collaboratively within an integrated health care system About KAISER KAISER is committed to comprehensive health care, including evidence-based behavioral health and addiction recovery services.
