CDL A Truck Driver

Clean Harbors is hiring a full-time CDL Class A Truck Driver for a local dry van route based in San Jose, Santa Clara County — an opportunity to stay close to home while building a stable career with an industry leader in environmental and industrial services.

About the Role

This position covers a local San Jose, CA delivery route, meaning you return home every day. The shift runs from 10 AM to 9 PM, averaging 50 to 60 hours per week. Pay starts at $30 per hour, and compensation covers all on-duty non-driving time in addition to mileage pay — so your time is valued at every stage of the workday, not just behind the wheel.

What You'll Do

• Operate a Class A dry van combination vehicle on local routes throughout the San Jose and greater Santa Clara County area
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
• Execute safe, on-time pickups and deliveries while following all traffic laws and company safety protocols
• Complete accurate delivery documentation, manifests, and driver logs
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and site personnel
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of your assigned vehicle
• Adhere to Clean Harbors' health, safety, and environmental standards at all times

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
• Ability to meet DOT physical and drug/alcohol testing requirements
• Experience operating dry van trailers preferred
• Strong commitment to safety — both personal and public
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a 10 AM–9 PM shift consistently
• Solid communication and time-management skills
• Familiarity with the San Jose, CA and Santa Clara County road network is a plus
