About the Role

The Caretaker II position offers an opportunity to take ownership of campus facilities and grounds management. You'll be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of our Balarat facility, ensuring all systems and outdoor areas operate smoothly. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while living on the property.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on school buildings, systems, and grounds
• Respond promptly to facility requests and repair needs from staff and students
• Monitor and maintain campus landscaping, walkways, and outdoor areas
• Ensure campus security and safety protocols are followed
• Operate and maintain mechanical and utility systems
• Document maintenance activities and report facility conditions to supervisors
• Support special events and seasonal facility preparations

What We're Looking For

• Experience in building or grounds maintenance, custodial work, or related facility management
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues or willingness to learn
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Reliability, responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining high standards
