Car Repairer

Progress Rail Services Corp. is hiring a full-time Car Repairer in Douglas to support our freight car repair operations. We offer competitive pay and a $3,000 sign-on bonus for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

• Remove and fit railcar parts and structural components for freight car repair and assembly
• Fabricate custom metal components needed for railcar repairs
• Perform precision welding on freight car structures, frames, and mechanical assemblies
• Execute repair and maintenance procedures on rail cars according to company and industry standards
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure quality results and timely completion

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in freight car repair, railcar welding, or heavy equipment repair
• Strong welding and metal fabrication skills with demonstrated proficiency
• Competence using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
• Attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality standards
• Full-time availability and reliable attendance at our Douglas location
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
