Robert Half is partnering with a large healthcare organization in Menands, Albany County to place a full-time Buyer/Purchaser who will keep critical supply chains moving across multiple internal departments.
About the Role
As a Buyer/Purchaser, you will take ownership of end-to-end procurement activity within a complex, multi-department healthcare environment. Working on-site in Menands, you will serve as a key link between internal stakeholders and external vendors — ensuring the right goods, services, and equipment arrive on time and within scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase goods, services, and equipment required by multiple departments across the organization
- Issue, track, and manage purchase orders through their full lifecycle
- Monitor inbound deliveries and proactively follow up to ensure on-time receipt
- Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, shortages, and fulfillment issues
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal department contacts
- Deliver responsive, professional service to internal customers seeking procurement support
Qualifications
- Prior experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related supply chain function
- Familiarity with purchase order systems and procurement workflows
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open orders simultaneously
- Clear, professional communication skills for vendor negotiations and internal collaboration
- Experience in a healthcare or similarly regulated environment is a plus
