Bus Drivers

Lenawee Intermediate School District is hiring Bus Drivers to join our transportation department serving Adrian and Lenawee County. We're seeking safety-focused professionals who can reliably transport our special education students and program participants while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle operation and student care.

About the Role

This full-time position involves daily operation of school buses serving Lenawee Intermediate School District's special education and specialized programs. You'll transport students with attention to safety and professionalism, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and district safety procedures. Your work directly impacts students' ability to access their education and specialized services.

What You'll Do

• Operate school buses for morning and afternoon routes serving special education and other district programs
• Ensure safe, orderly conduct of passengers during all transportation activities
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintenance checks, and report mechanical issues
• Follow all Michigan Department of Education transportation regulations and district policies
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and school staff
• Maintain accurate route and incident documentation
• Respond appropriately to student behavioral and emergency situations

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent credential
• Michigan Department of Education School Bus Driver License
• Clean driving record demonstrating safe driving practices
• Valid Continuing Education Card (CPR/First Aid certification)
• Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification
• Current Physical Card (medical examination documentation)
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Patience, professionalism, and strong communication abilities
