About the Role
As a Bottoms Designer, Wholesale Apparel, you will help translate seasonal direction into refined, market-ready bottoms — including pants, skirts, and tailored separates — for women seeking polished wear-to-work and special occasion wardrobes. Based in New York City, you will collaborate closely with merchandising, technical design, and production partners to bring commercially compelling, on-trend styles to life across the company's portfolio of iconic brands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop original bottoms designs aligned with each season's concept, silhouette direction, and target customer.
- Create detailed sketches, specifications, and design packages to guide sample development.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure fit, fabrication, and construction meet quality and brand standards.
- Research market trends, fabrics, and trims to inform fresh, relevant assortments.
- Review samples and provide clear feedback to drive accurate, timely execution.
Qualifications
- Proven experience designing bottoms or related categories within wholesale women's apparel.
- Strong sense of silhouette, proportion, and fit for wear-to-work and occasion dressing.
- Proficiency with industry design tools and the ability to produce clear technical sketches and specs.
- Solid understanding of fabrics, construction, and the product development calendar.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple styles at once.
