What You'll Do Enforce federal laws at the border by patrolling designated areas on foot, horseback, boat, or vehicle. Interdict illegal entrants, smugglers, narcotics, weapons, and other contraband. Conduct searches of persons, vehicles, aircraft, vessels, baggage, cargo, and merchandise. Qualifications A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a full-time law enforcement officer or in a similar position involving the detection, prevention, investigation, or prosecution of violations of federal, state, or local laws. U.S. citizenship is required. Maintain physical fitness standards and pass medical examinations.
