About the Role
As the Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Bledsoe County High, you will support the Head Basketball Coach in building a competitive, disciplined program. Working under the head coach's direction, you'll play a hands-on part in shaping practices, sharpening skills, and inspiring student athletes throughout the season. This is a supplemental coaching position based in Sumner, Pierce County.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Basketball Coach in planning and preparing for daily practice sessions.
- Deliver clear instruction and keep student athletes motivated and focused during practice.
- Lead individual and small-group skill workouts to strengthen player fundamentals.
- Help design and implement the team's strength and conditioning program.
- Carry out additional coaching and program duties as assigned by the head coach.
Qualifications
- A solid understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
- Experience instructing, motivating, and mentoring student athletes is highly valued.
- Familiarity with strength and conditioning principles for young athletes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively under the head coach's leadership.
- A genuine commitment to the academic and athletic growth of every student on the roster.
