Barista

Fooda is hiring a full-time Barista in Deerfield, Lake County to join our team and bring craft coffee expertise to the office dining experience we've built since 2011.

About the Role

As a Barista, you'll operate at the heart of our on-site café, crafting quality beverages and creating memorable interactions with our office community. This is a hands-on position where your coffee knowledge and customer service directly enhance the workday for dozens of professionals, and where consistency, speed, and attention to detail matter daily.

What You'll Do

• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment to prepare specialty coffee drinks, including espresso shots, lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and other made-to-order beverages
• Take orders efficiently in a fast-paced environment and communicate drink specifications clearly to ensure accuracy
• Maintain sanitization standards for all equipment and workspace, including daily cleaning and maintenance protocols
• Manage point-of-sale transactions, handle cash responsibly, and process digital payments
• Stock supplies, monitor inventory, and inform management of needed restocks
• Collaborate with team members to deliver consistent service during peak and off-peak hours
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and build rapport with regular office guests

What We're Looking For

• Prior barista experience or demonstrated knowledge of espresso machines and coffee preparation techniques
• Strong customer service skills with a genuine interest in quality and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment and manage multiple orders
• Reliable attendance and the ability to work a consistent full-time schedule in Deerfield
• Basic math aptitude for order totals and cash handling
• Teamwork mentality and professional communication with colleagues and guests
• Flexibility to adapt to seasonal demand and special events
