Bakery/Deli Clerk

Kroger Family of Companies is hiring a full-time Bakery/Deli Clerk at our Sun Prairie, Dane County location — a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in delivering a standout shopping experience every shift.

About the Role

As a Bakery/Deli Clerk with the Kroger Family of Companies in Sun Prairie, you'll be the face of our bakery and deli departments, keeping product quality high and customers coming back. You'll work alongside department leadership to hit sales targets, uphold food safety standards, and create a welcoming environment from the moment customers walk in.

What You'll Do

• Provide friendly, attentive service to every customer in the bakery and deli sections
• Prepare, slice, package, and label deli meats, cheeses, and bakery items according to department standards
• Maintain accurate product rotation, freshness dating, and proper food storage practices
• Keep display cases, counters, and work areas clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout your shift
• Support department managers in monitoring inventory levels and minimizing shrink
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements at all times
• Operate slicers, scales, and other deli equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming bakery and deli product deliveries

What We're Looking For

• Strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Comfort standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25–50 lbs
• Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and handling transactions
• Prior experience in a grocery, deli, bakery, or food service setting is a plus but not required
