Lewis Brisbois is seeking a Bad Faith & Insurance Coverage Partner to join its Insurance Coverage Practice in Costa Mesa, Orange County. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity for an accomplished litigator ready to handle sophisticated coverage matters at a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm.
About the Role
As a Bad Faith & Insurance Coverage Partner based in the firm's Orange County, CA office, you will analyze complex insurance coverage questions and craft well-reasoned coverage opinions. Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, offers a collaborative environment where experienced attorneys advise carriers on first party property and general liability exposures while managing active litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate insurance policies and assess coverage issues arising from first party property and general liability claims.
- Prepare clear, defensible coverage opinions and advisory memoranda for insurer clients.
- Manage and litigate bad faith and coverage disputes from inception through resolution.
- Advise clients on risk, strategy, and exposure throughout the life of each matter.
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
Qualifications
- Active license to practice law in California and good standing with the State Bar.
- Eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of experience reviewing insurance coverage and drafting coverage opinions.
- Proven background in first party property and general liability coverage analysis.
- Hands-on litigation experience handling coverage and bad faith disputes.
- Strong analytical, writing, and client-advisory skills.
