Appa Empregos is hiring a General Services Assistant (Auxiliar de Serviços Gerais) for a full-time position in the United States. This hands-on role supports our campus facilities team, taking on diverse maintenance and operational tasks to keep our environment clean, functional, and well-maintained.
About the Role
As a General Services Assistant, you'll be part of a facilities team responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of campus grounds and buildings, offering variety in daily tasks and the opportunity to develop skills across multiple facility areas.
What You'll Do
- Support cleaning and janitorial staff with assigned cleaning projects and routine maintenance tasks
- Operate heavy equipment, including tractors, on campus grounds when authorized and needed
- Manage furniture relocation, moving, and reconfiguration projects as assigned
- Perform excavation, backfilling, and cleaning work on drainage systems, ditches, galleries, septic systems, underground utilities, sand boxes, wells, tanks, and piping
- Respond to maintenance requests and support other facility needs as they arise
What We're Looking For
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy items, and work outdoors in varying weather
- Willingness to learn and operate equipment with proper training and authorization
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for an on-site schedule
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow safety protocols
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
