IQVIA is hiring an Associate Director, Safety Project Leadership in Durham, Durham County — a full-time, on-site role for an experienced pharmacovigilance leader ready to steer complex, high-visibility safety programs.
About the Role
As Associate Director, Safety Project Leadership at IQVIA, you will serve as the strategic lead across customer accounts, owning the direction of several large-scale projects assigned by senior leadership. You will be the sponsor's main point of contact for the full life of each engagement, coordinating both locally and globally scoped deliverables that span one or more Lifecycle Safety functions. This is a Durham-based position with line management duties for designated Customer Delivery Leadership (CDL) team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and drive account-level strategy for multiple major safety projects across the customer portfolio.
- Act as the sponsor's primary liaison from initiation through close-out, keeping stakeholders aligned and informed.
- Oversee local and globally scoped program deliverables involving single or combined Lifecycle Safety functions.
- Provide line management, mentoring, and performance oversight for assigned Customer Delivery Leadership (CDL) staff.
- Partner with the senior management team to ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and client-satisfaction goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading pharmacovigilance, drug safety, or Lifecycle Safety projects at the program or account level.
- Strong client-facing skills with a track record of managing relationships with project sponsors and global stakeholders.
- Demonstrated people-leadership ability, including direct line management of project or delivery staff.
- Capability to balance multiple large, concurrent projects while maintaining strategic focus and operational rigor.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
