About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Sciences (Drug Delivery) will set the scientific and technical course for formulation and delivery efforts. You will design and carry out forward-thinking drug delivery and formulation approaches that move programs through pre-IND development, support candidate selection, and advance new delivery platform technologies at our Irvine, Orange County headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the development and execution of creative drug delivery and formulation strategies across early-stage pipeline programs.
- Provide scientific and technical leadership for formulation and delivery activities supporting pre-IND product development.
- Lend formulation expertise to candidate selection and program decision-making.
- Drive the evaluation and advancement of novel delivery platform technologies.
- Partner cross-functionally to translate delivery concepts into viable product development paths.
Qualifications
- Deep expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, drug delivery, and formulation development.
- Demonstrated experience guiding formulation strategy through pre-IND and candidate selection stages.
- Familiarity with novel and emerging delivery platform technologies.
- Strong scientific leadership skills with the ability to set technical direction for a team.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities.
