Associate Attorney – Litigation

Richardson Plowden is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join our litigation practice in Market, Richland County, South Carolina. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your trial and advocacy skills at a respected business defense firm.

About the Role

As an Associate Attorney in Litigation, you will work alongside experienced counsel on a diverse range of business defense matters, representing clients across multiple industries. You'll gain hands-on experience in discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy while contributing to the firm's continued growth.

What You'll Do

• Handle litigation matters for corporate clients, healthcare providers, and business entities
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex litigation issues
• Assist with trial preparation, depositions, and witness management
• Communicate with clients on case status and strategy
• Manage case timelines, deadlines, and court filings

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree and active South Carolina bar license or eligibility
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters with competing priorities
• Detail-oriented approach to legal work and compliance
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to take on expanding responsibilities
• Interest in business defense and commercial litigation
