Spring Hill Unified School District 230 is seeking a dedicated educator to step into the role of Assistant Science Olympiad Sponsor at Woodland Spring Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting one of our district's most engaging STEM enrichment activities.
About the Role
As the Assistant Science Olympiad Sponsor, you will help guide and inspire middle school students as they explore science, engineering, and problem-solving through competitive academic challenges. Working alongside the lead sponsor, you will play a key part in preparing students for Science Olympiad events while fostering curiosity, teamwork, and a passion for discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing and coaching the Woodland Spring Middle School Science Olympiad team throughout the season.
- Support students as they prepare for and participate in regional and competitive events.
- Help plan practices, study sessions, and activity logistics in coordination with the lead sponsor.
- Encourage student engagement, collaboration, and academic growth in science and engineering disciplines.
- Supervise students during meetings, travel, and competitions, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for science education and extracurricular student activities.
- Ability to mentor and motivate middle school students.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to work as part of an activity sponsorship team.
- Compliance with all district requirements for activity sponsors and staff working with students.
