About the Role

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll support the planning and execution of utility construction projects across the Phoenix region. You'll work alongside experienced project leaders to develop the skills and judgment needed for long-term advancement in construction project management while contributing directly to critical power line and substation work.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate field activities, schedules, and resources for construction projects in partnership with senior project managers
• Track project timelines, milestones, and completion dates using scheduling tools and documentation systems
• Communicate with construction crews, subcontractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure coordinated execution
• Document project progress, maintain records, and prepare reports for compliance and internal tracking
• Monitor project costs, log expenses, and assist in budget reconciliation and financial updates
• Support quality control and safety program implementation across job sites
• Attend job site meetings, identify scheduling conflicts or resource gaps, and escalate issues to senior management
• Support contract administration and documentation for subcontractors and vendors

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or college coursework in project management, construction management, or engineering preferred
• Strong organizational and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Comfortable working in field-based construction environments and on active job sites
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software
• Willingness to learn utility construction practices, project management systems, and industry safety standards
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel throughout the Phoenix area
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within teams
