Oklahoma State Government is seeking a full-time Assistant District Attorney to join the District Attorneys Council in Miami-Dade County. This is an on-site legal position serving the Miami court system and the residents of Miami-Dade County.

About the Role

As an Assistant District Attorney, you will prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the State of Oklahoma, working within District 13 to advance justice and protect public safety. You will handle cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, representing the State at all stages of criminal proceedings.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and file criminal charges, motions, and legal pleadings
  • Conduct witness interviews and gather evidence to build prosecutorial cases
  • Negotiate plea agreements and settlements when appropriate
  • Represent the State in court hearings, trials, and appellate proceedings
  • Examine and cross-examine witnesses during trial
  • Work with law enforcement and investigative agencies to develop prosecutorial strategy
  • Ensure compliance with discovery rules and ethical obligations
  • Maintain detailed case files and documentation

What We're Looking For

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active Oklahoma bar license in good standing (or ability to obtain licensure)
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law, evidence, and court procedure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
  • Sound judgment and professional ethics
  • Demonstrated commitment to public service and criminal justice
  • Prior prosecutorial or trial experience is valued but not required
