Core Duties Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including variance analysis and financial projections Review cost allocations, job costs, and financial details to ensure accuracy across the organization Contribute to improving financial systems, accounting policies, and operational processes Respond to requests from internal stakeholders for reporting and financial analysis Assist with audit preparation, compliance activities, and implementation of accounting best practices Learn Syscon's unique accounting structure and systems to build toward broader finance leadership What We're Looking For Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline Strong grounding in accrual accounting principles and practices Solid experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, budgeting, and forecasting Working knowledge of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analysis, and indirect cost allocation methods Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to work systematically through complex financial information with consistent accuracy Willingness to follow direction, ask clarifying questions, and learn established processes Strong written and verbal communication with reliable follow-through on commitments A growth mindset and genuine interest in developing toward a controller-level role Nice-to-have experience: familiarity with Sage 100 Contractor or Acumatica, cost accounting, job costing, background in small or mid-sized operations, or exposure to financial system implementations and process improvements.…
