The Opportunity

This full-time campus-based coaching role offers the chance to influence daily development of runners and field specialists within an established collegiate athletic framework.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the head coach to design progressive workouts tailored to women's cross country and track and field event groups
• Guide practice sessions that emphasize technique, endurance building, speed development, and recovery protocols
• Engage in recruitment activities by evaluating talent and maintaining communication with prospective student-athletes interested in Point Loma Campus programs
• Track academic standing and personal well-being of team members to encourage balanced success
• Assist with logistics for home and away competitions, including meet planning and team travel coordination
• Provide real-time technical feedback during training and races while promoting sportsmanship and institutional standards

Who We're Looking For

• Demonstrated background as a coach or competitive athlete in women's cross country and track and field
• Solid grasp of periodized training principles, race strategy, and injury-prevention practices for distance and event athletes
• Clear verbal and written communication abilities that motivate individuals and maintain positive team culture
• Capacity to operate effectively within a college campus athletic department and support shared departmental goals
• Dedication to holistic student-athlete development both competitively and academically
• Relevant coaching experience or educational foundation that prepares you for assistant-level leadership in these sports
