About the Role
This full-time position provides essential coaching support to the Cape Central High School boys soccer team. As Assistant Boys Soccer Coach, you'll work directly with the head coach to deliver comprehensive player development, competitive game preparation, and a strong team culture. You'll be instrumental in supporting all facets of the program at this vibrant Cape Girardeau Public Schools facility.
What You'll Do
- Partner with the head coach to plan, organize, and execute daily practice sessions
- Provide direct coaching, feedback, and skill development to players of varying ability levels
- Assess player progress and recommend development pathways
- Support game-day operations, including pre-game preparation and in-game support
- Assist with team equipment, fields, and logistics management
- Help foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, discipline, and player development
- Contribute to recruiting efforts and player retention initiatives
- Maintain records of player performance and training activities
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of soccer techniques, tactics, and training methodology
- Ability to communicate clearly and motivate high school athletes
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Commitment to player safety, development, and well-being
- Flexibility to attend practices, games, and athletic events
- Experience coaching youth or high school soccer (strongly preferred)
- Valid driver's license
- Background check clearance as required by Cape Girardeau Public Schools
