About the Role
As an Asphalt Paver Operator with Fort Myer Construction, you'll operate and maintain specialized paving equipment on commercial and municipal projects throughout the DMV. This is a hands-on position where your skill and attention to detail directly impact the quality of every road, parking lot, and surface you help build. What You'll Do
- Operate asphalt paving machinery to lay and finish asphalt on various construction projects
- Control paver speed, slope, and material distribution to meet project specifications and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and pre-shift inspections of paving equipment
- Collaborate with crew members, equipment operators, and project supervisors to ensure safe, efficient operations
- Monitor asphalt temperature and material consistency throughout the paving process
- Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating asphalt paving equipment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Commitment to safety and adherence to industry standards
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
