About the Role

As an Art Teacher at Rankin Elementary, you will design and lead engaging art instruction that supports each student's academic growth and social development. Working under general supervision, you will create a welcoming classroom environment where elementary students explore artistic skills while mastering the subject matter aligned to North Carolina's learning expectations. This is an on-site position based in Gastonia within the Gaston County Schools district.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and deliver art lessons that help students learn core concepts and develop creative skills.
• Teach the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards for visual arts.
• Build instructional environments that encourage learning, exploration, and student engagement.
• Provide meaningful learning experiences that contribute to students' educational and social growth.
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Qualifications

• Appropriate North Carolina teaching licensure or eligibility to obtain it, as required for the position.
• Knowledge of elementary art curriculum and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Essential Standards.
• Ability to plan and present effective, standards-based instruction.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A commitment to nurturing the development of elementary-aged students.
