Architectural Designer – Sports

PBK Architects is seeking a full-time Architectural Designer - Sports to join our Houston, Harris County studio, where you'll help shape memorable sports and recreation environments from first concept through final construction.

About the Role

As an Architectural Designer - Sports at PBK Architects in Houston, you will craft high-caliber design deliverables and detailed construction documents for sports-focused projects. You'll contribute across the full project lifecycle and collaborate closely with senior leadership to bring each design to life. This position reports directly to a Director, Principal, or Associate Principal, who will guide your assignments and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop polished, high-quality project design deliverables and accurate construction documentation.
• Participate in every stage of project development, including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
• Translate design concepts into clear, buildable documentation for sports and athletic facilities.
• Work alongside project leaders to meet deliverable expectations, schedules, and quality standards.
• Support coordination tasks under the direction of your assigned Director, Principal, or Associate Principal.

Qualifications

• Background in architecture or architectural design, with a focus on producing project deliverables and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of the phases of architectural development, from early concept through construction administration.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to design quality.
• Ability to take direction from senior leadership and deliver work on schedule.
• Interest in sports, recreation, and athletic facility design is a plus.
