Newport School District is hiring a full-time Summer Program Enrichment Aide at Richards Elementary School to help bring an active, joyful summer learning experience to local children. About the Role
As a Summer Program Enrichment Aide with Newport School District, you will assist in delivering recreational, educational, and social programming designed to keep children engaged and growing throughout the summer months. Working directly under the guidance of a Program Leader, you will help maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive setting where every participant feels supported. This is a full-time, in-person position based at Richards Elementary School, with afternoon scheduling as part of the Summer Program Junior Leaders team. Please note this is an anticipated opening.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and day-to-day delivery of fun, age-appropriate enrichment activities for children.
- Help facilitate recreational, educational, and social experiences that encourage learning and connection.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging atmosphere for all program participants.
- Assist the Program Leader with supervision and the smooth running of daily activities.
- Contribute to a positive, encouraging environment that puts student wellbeing first.
Qualifications
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with and mentoring school-aged children.
- Ability to follow direction from a Program Leader while showing initiative and dependability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that promote inclusion and teamwork.
- A patient, positive, and attentive approach to supervising children in a group setting.
- Availability for a full-time, on-site summer schedule, including afternoon hours.
