Join the Williston International Airport team as an Airport Mechanic in Williston, Williams County, North Dakota. This full-time position offers the opportunity to maintain critical airport operations by keeping our fleet and ground support systems running safely and efficiently.
About the Role
As an Airport Mechanic at Williston International Airport, you'll take ownership of the mechanical integrity of airport vehicles and equipment that support daily operations. Your work directly impacts safety, reliability, and our ability to serve the traveling public. You'll balance preventive maintenance schedules with urgent repairs, troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and maintain detailed records to ensure we meet all federal, state, and local aviation standards.
What You'll Do
- Inspect, maintain, and repair airport vehicles, equipment, and ground support equipment to operational standards
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on aircraft tugs, baggage handlers, fuel trucks, and other specialized airport machinery
- Diagnose mechanical problems using testing equipment and technical knowledge, determining the most efficient repair approach
- Execute emergency repairs to minimize downtime and maintain airport operations
- Document all maintenance and repair work, parts used, and labor hours for compliance and tracking purposes
- Follow federal aviation regulations, state safety codes, and airport-specific maintenance protocols
What We're Looking For
- Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably in aviation, heavy equipment, or commercial vehicle settings
- Strong diagnostic skills and ability to work independently to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues
- Proficiency with mechanical tools and test equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Reliable, organized approach to recordkeeping and documentation
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain an airport identification badge
