Boys & Girls Clubs Of San Antonio is hiring a part-time After-School Youth Development Professional for our Mays location in San Antonio, Bexar County. In this role, you'll mentor young people and shape their growth through meaningful activities, leadership opportunities, and safe, supportive programming.
About the Role
As a Youth Development Professional, you'll work with children and teens ages 6–18 during after-school hours, creating experiences that help them develop academically, physically, and emotionally. Your work directly impacts how young people see themselves and their futures, building confidence and opening doors to opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Lead engaging programs across five core areas: Arts, Education, Character & Leadership, Health & Wellness, and Sports & Recreation
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that match each group's developmental stage and interests
- Mentor youth one-on-one and in groups, building trust and encouraging positive choices
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every young person feels valued and respected
- Track youth progress and communicate regularly with supervisors about successes and growth areas
- Support club operations, including setup, supervision, and basic administrative tasks
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality programming
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for youth development and mentorship
- Experience working with children and teens in group settings (education, recreation, community, or youth services)
- Ability to plan and deliver activities across multiple interest areas
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commitment to creating inclusive, equitable spaces
- Reliability and flexibility for part-time after-school and occasional evening hours
- High school diploma or GED required
