Looking to make a difference in children's lives after the school bell rings? The Foothills Area YMCA is hiring a full-time After School Care - Walhalla Elementary Assistant Site Coordinator in Seneca, Oconee County, to help lead a safe, enriching environment for local students.
About the Role
As the Assistant Site Coordinator, you will work alongside the Site Director to deliver strong leadership and daily oversight for the Y After School program at Walhalla Elementary. This on-site, full-time position centers on keeping every participant safe, supported, and meaningfully engaged while you help guide staff and keep communication flowing smoothly among children, parents, fellow team members, and program administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Site Director to provide direction, supervision, and hands-on guidance throughout each program day.
- Champion the safety, health, and overall well-being of all children in your care.
- Encourage positive participation and create activities that keep students active and engaged.
- Assist in coaching, motivating, and coordinating program staff.
- Maintain clear, respectful communication with families, children, coworkers, and YMCA administration.
- Step into a leadership role to support program operations when the Site Director is unavailable.
Qualifications
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with school-age children in a structured after-school setting.
- Dependable leadership and supervisory abilities, with comfort guiding both children and staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for connecting with families and colleagues.
- A consistent commitment to safety, supervision, and positive youth development.
- Availability for a full-time, in-person schedule in Seneca, Oconee County.
