Account Executive, Commercial

Drive new business and grow Samsara's customer base as an Account Executive, Commercial based in Portland, Multnomah County — a full-time, on-site role at the company pioneering the Connected Operations™ Cloud.

About the Role

As an Account Executive on Samsara's Commercial team, you'll own the full sales cycle for prospective customers across Portland and the surrounding region. This is an in-person, field-facing position focused on bringing IoT-powered operational technology to organizations whose work depends on physical operations — from transportation and logistics to construction, manufacturing, and the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and qualify new pipeline through proactive prospecting, outreach, and territory development in the Portland market.
• Manage opportunities end to end, from first conversation through negotiation and signed agreement.
• Show prospects how Samsara's platform turns Internet of Things (IoT) data into practical insights that strengthen safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Build durable relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers across operations-driven businesses.
• Forecast accurately and keep deal activity current within the CRM.
• Partner with sales engineering, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver a seamless buying experience.

Qualifications

• Track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle, quota-carrying sales role.
• Confidence selling technology or SaaS solutions, ideally to operations or field-focused buyers.
• Strong prospecting, discovery, and closing skills paired with clear, persuasive communication.
• Self-starter mindset suited to a fast-moving, in-person commercial environment.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel within the Portland, Multnomah County territory as needed.
