Academic Success Student Navigator – Student Hourly

About the Role

As an Academic Success Student Navigator at the University of Kansas, you'll be the bridge between students and the academic resources they need to thrive. Your work centers on identifying students who need support, connecting them with solutions, and providing ongoing guidance to help them achieve their educational goals.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and respond to student academic alerts through KU's early alert system, identifying at-risk students and reaching out proactively
  • Schedule and conduct one-on-one meetings with students to review academic progress and discuss success strategies
  • Provide peer-level guidance on academic fundamentals, study skills, time management, and course selection
  • Connect students with campus resources including tutoring, writing centers, disability services, and counseling
  • Build relationships with students through consistent follow-up and engagement
  • Maintain detailed case notes and documentation of student interactions and progress
  • Assist with campus outreach events and student engagement initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled as a University of Kansas student
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple student cases
  • Experience or demonstrated commitment to supporting peer success
  • Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines
  • Genuine interest in student development and academic success
