We're seeking a dedicated educator passionate about helping students develop strong mathematical foundations and the critical-thinking skills they need to solve real-world challenges.

About the Role

As a Math Academic Specialist at North Oak Academy, you'll take a comprehensive approach to supporting student success in mathematics. You'll design and deliver engaging instruction that helps students master computational skills while developing deeper conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities.

What You'll Do

• Plan and teach mathematics curriculum aligned with academic standards, bringing concepts to life through real-world applications
• Assess student understanding and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Build a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel confident and motivated to learn
• Collaborate with colleagues to align instruction and share best practices across grade levels
• Use data to identify students needing additional support and provide targeted intervention
• Integrate critical-thinking and problem-solving activities that encourage creative mathematical thinking and application
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and engagement

What We're Looking For

• Valid North Carolina teaching credential in mathematics, or commitment to obtaining one
• Strong knowledge of mathematics content and pedagogy across grade levels
• Ability to create a classroom culture where students feel safe taking academic risks
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and evidence-based teaching practices
• Flexibility and willingness to collaborate on school initiatives and professional development
