Lead, coordinate, and improve operations on a dynamic science campus Create a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for world-class research Manage facilities to support scientific activities and staff wellbeing Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime Responsibilities The Facilities Services Manager will be responsible for: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities services Managing a team of facility staff, ensuring effective performance and development Coordinating with external contractors to maintain building and equipment Developing and maintaining safety protocols and emergency response plans Collaborating with research teams to understand their needs and support them effectively Skills & Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should have: A degree or significant experience in facilities management, engineering, or a related field Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in managing teams and projects Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations Experience in facility maintenance, operations, and asset management A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement Excellent communication and interpersonal skills More About Plant & Food Research Plant & Food Research is a world-class research institute dedicated to improving the sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness of New Zealand's primary industries.
