Responsibilities

• Design and deliver clear, standards-aligned lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies for fifth-grade students
• Create a well-managed classroom that promotes respect, engagement, and high expectations for every learner
• Assess student understanding through observations, assignments, and formal measures, then use results to adjust teaching
• Differentiate instruction so students with varied abilities and needs receive appropriate support and challenge
• Communicate regularly with families about progress, celebrations, and areas for growth
• Collaborate with grade-level peers, specialists, and school leaders on curriculum and student success strategies
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavioral notes as required by school procedures
• Participate in professional learning, staff meetings, and school-wide events that strengthen the educational program

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Valid Arizona teaching certificate or eligibility for certification with elementary authorization
• Proven ability to plan lessons and manage a fifth-grade classroom effectively
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum standards and age-appropriate instructional methods
• Excellent communication and organizational skills that support student learning and family partnerships
• Commitment to equity, positive behavior support, and creating an inclusive classroom climate
• Willingness to work full time on site in Tucson, Arizona at the 434 W Lerdo Rd campus
