Norman Public Schools is hiring a dedicated 26-27 Assistant Baseball Coach at Norman North High School in Norman, Oklahoma — a full-time, on-site opportunity to mentor student-athletes and build a winning culture on the diamond.
About the Role
As the 26-27 Assistant Baseball Coach with Norman Public Schools, you will support the head coach in leading the Norman North High School baseball program. This full-time, in-person position centers on athlete development, the care and prevention of injuries, and fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach with practices, game-day strategy, and overall management of the baseball program.
- Promote athlete safety through proper conditioning and the care and prevention of injuries.
- Instruct players in fundamental skills, game knowledge, and competitive technique.
- Model positive character, teamwork, and sportsmanship for student-athletes.
- Support team organization, equipment care, and communication with players and families.
Qualifications
- Experience playing and/or coaching baseball at the high school level or above.
- Knowledge of athletic safety practices, including injury prevention and care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to meet any certification, background-check, and eligibility requirements set by Norman Public Schools and applicable state athletic associations.
