26-27 Academic Dean

Milwaukee Science Education is hiring a full-time Academic Dean to lead instructional excellence and student achievement at our Milwaukee, Milwaukee County campus. In this role, you'll develop and mentor a team of educators, ensure rigorous curriculum implementation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement across our science-focused educational environment.

About This Position

As Academic Dean, you'll serve as the lead instructional officer responsible for overseeing teaching quality, curriculum alignment, and student learning outcomes. This exempt, full-time position reports directly to the Principal and plays a critical role in building a team of high-performing instructional leaders. You'll work at the intersection of pedagogy and accountability, translating best practices into classroom-level impact while supporting teachers through coaching, observation, and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate instructional staff to ensure teaching quality meets institutional standards
• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to support teacher growth and student achievement
• Design and facilitate professional development focused on evidence-based instructional practices
• Monitor curriculum implementation and student performance data to identify gaps and opportunities
• Lead collaborative planning sessions with faculty to strengthen instructional strategies across subject areas
• Manage academic budgets and allocate resources to support instructional goals
• Partner with the Principal and leadership team on strategic planning and school improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Valid state administrative or instructional leadership certification
• Minimum 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design and instructional best practices
• Strong data analysis and assessment literacy skills
• Proven ability to build trust, mentor educators, and drive collaborative culture
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
