About the Role As a full-time Career Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting student development and career readiness across the school. This is a classified support staff position, working a standard 8-hour school day across our 198-day work calendar. This role directly influences how students envision and plan their futures. What You'll Do Counsel students on career exploration, college preparation, and post-secondary options Develop and deliver career awareness presentations and workshops Maintain student records and track progress toward career and academic goals Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to integrate career development into the school experience Organize career fairs, guest speakers, and industry partnerships Connect students with internship, apprenticeship, and work-based learning opportunities Support students in resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies Stay current with labor market trends, college requirements, and credential pathways What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in education, counseling, or related field preferred Experience working with high school students or in career services or education Knowledge of college admission processes, career pathways, and post-secondary opportunities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to organize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Familiarity with career assessment tools and college and career readiness frameworks Commitment to supporting all students, particularly those facing barriers to opportunity About Agua Fria High School District Agua Fria High School District is dedicated to preparing students for meaningful lives and careers.
