2027 Science, (STEM Lab Elementary)

The School District of Lee County is hiring a full-time Science instructor for the 2026-2027 school year to lead our Elementary STEM Lab program in Fort Myers, Florida. This role focuses on inspiring young students through hands-on laboratory-based science education.

About the Role

As an Elementary STEM Lab Science instructor, you'll deliver science curriculum that emphasizes inquiry-based learning and hands-on experimentation. Students in this program engage directly with science concepts through laboratory work, observation, and discovery-based activities that build critical thinking and scientific reasoning.

What You'll Do

• Design and facilitate hands-on science experiments and laboratory activities aligned with state standards
• Teach foundational science concepts across life, physical, and earth science domains
• Maintain safe laboratory practices and manage equipment and materials responsibly
• Assess student understanding through observations, projects, experiments, and assessments
• Support student curiosity and develop confidence in scientific thinking
• Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate science across the elementary curriculum
• Document and communicate student progress to families and colleagues

What We're Looking For

• Valid teaching certification in Science or eligibility to teach Science
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Science, Science Education, or a related field
• Experience or demonstrated ability teaching elementary-level science
• Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Enthusiasm for hands-on, inquiry-based science instruction
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
