2026-2027 PK-5 Classroom Teacher

Tulia Independent School District seeks a 2026-2027 PK-5 Classroom Teacher for full-time service in Tulia, Swisher County. This position provides the opportunity to lead elementary learners through their foundational academic years while fostering growth across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social dimensions.

About the Role

In this classroom teaching position, you'll design purposeful learning experiences that help young students develop academic competencies and the skills needed to thrive in school and community life. Your instruction will support all learners in reaching their potential while building a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned lessons across core subject areas including reading, mathematics, science, and social studies
• Implement instructional approaches aligned with STAAR assessment frameworks to support student achievement
• Monitor student progress through formal and informal assessment methods and adjust instruction to meet individual learner needs
• Build and maintain a classroom environment where all students feel supported, respected, and engaged
• Maintain communication with families regarding student learning, progress, and areas for growth
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support personnel to address student needs and implement school initiatives
• Keep organized records of student attendance, assessment data, and academic progress
• Engage in ongoing professional development aligned with district priorities

What We're Looking For

• Valid Texas teaching certificate issued by the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC)
• Experience teaching elementary-age students or demonstrated competency in PreK-5 instruction
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to design differentiated instruction for learners with varied abilities and backgrounds
• Commitment to creating an equitable, inclusive classroom community
• Teachers certified in Foundational Areas by SBEC may qualify for a $3,500 annual stipend
