Regional School Unit #3
Regional School Unit #3 is hiring a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students across our district in Maine. If you are passionate about helping young learners build the skills they need to thrive, this role offers a meaningful way to make a difference.
About the Role
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with Regional School Unit #3, you will work alongside our special education team to deliver occupational therapy services to students. This is a part-time, district-wide position serving learners at Mount View Elementary School, Monroe Elementary School, and Troy Central School. You will help students develop the functional, fine-motor, and sensory skills that support their participation in everyday classroom and school activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans under the direction of a supervising occupational therapist.
- Support students in building fine-motor, sensory, and daily-living skills within the school setting.
- Collaborate closely with the special education team, classroom staff, and families to advance student goals.
- Travel between assigned schools to provide consistent, student-centered services across the district.
- Document student progress and contribute to ongoing program planning.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Commitment to working effectively within a special education environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to serve students across multiple school locations.
